TAAG Announces the Resumption of Flights Between Luanda and Praia in December
TAAG Angola Airlines is planning to resume flights between Luanda and Praia, Cape Verde, on 12 December 2026. The announcement was made on 26 October by Angola’s Minister of Transport, Ricardo Viegas d’Abreu, during the second Lusophone Africa Investment Forum, held on Sal Island, Cape Verde.
The planned service will include a stopover in Dakar, Senegal. The ticket sales process was being initiated at the time of the announcement.
The resumption of this route is intended to strengthen air connectivity between Angola and Cape Verde, facilitating business travel, institutional exchanges and economic relations between the two Portuguese-speaking countries.
During the forum, the minister also highlighted the importance of assessing the commercial viability of new routes and discussed the possibility of sharing costs when testing new air connections. Potential future links to Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea were also mentioned.
For businesses and investors, improved air connectivity can help reduce travel barriers, support trade and foster closer cooperation across Lusophone African markets.
ABBB follows these developments as part of the broader efforts to strengthen economic relations between Angola and international markets, including Portuguese-speaking countries.
