PROVINCE OF BIÉ

Bié is located in the central region of Angola, has an estimated population of 1,654,744 inhabitants and a territorial area of ​​70,314 km². Its capital is the municipality of Cuíto. The province is made up of 9 municipalities: Andulo, Camacupa, Catabola, Chinguar, Chitembo, Cuemba, Cunhinga, Cuíto and Nharea, being known as the heart of Angola due to its central location.

The province's climate is mesoteric at altitude, characterized by being dry, sweet, temperate and constant. The population is predominantly of Ovimbundu origin, with other ethno-linguistic groups such as the Tchokwe, the N'ganguelas, the Luimbis, the Songos and the N'goias. The favorable climate favors agricultural activity, the population's main activity, with rainfall that can reach 1500 mm during the rainy season. The predominant language is Umbundu.

To combat hunger and poverty and support family farming, the Government of Bié develops four main programs: intensification of cereal crops, legumes, roots and tubers, dynamization and strengthening of agricultural associations and cooperatives, production and expansion of rice cultivation within the scope of corporate agriculture, and coffee revitalization. The province controls 129 cooperatives and 1,329 peasant associations.

Within the scope of projects approved by the Ministry of Finance in PIIM, Bié occupies the second position with 69 projects in execution, behind Huíla which leads with 90 projects. These projects focus mainly on the sectors of health, construction and public works, urban planning, energy and water, security and public order, basic sanitation, administrative infrastructures and inter and intra municipal communication routes. The 69 projects in progress are part of a set of 155 projects registered by the Government of Bié, with the majority of works already reaching around 70% of physical execution.

Namibe is one of the 18 provinces of Angola, located in the south of the country. Its capital is Moçâmedes.

Huíla is one of the 18 provinces of Angola, located in the south of the country. Its capital is Lubango.

PROVINCE OF UÍGE

The province of Uíge is located in the north of Angola and covers an area of 58,698 km². Its capital is the town of Uíge. It is made up of the following municipalities: Uíge, Alto Cauale, Ambuíla, Bembe, Buengas, Bungo, Milunga, Damba, Maquela do Zombo, Mucaba, Negage, Puri, Quimbele, Quitexe, Sanza Pombo and Songo.

The region's humid tropical climate is ideal for farming, particularly coffee, maize, manioc and peanuts. Uíge is one of Angola's main coffee-producing regions.

Timber exploitation is also a significant economic activity, with dense forests providing timber and other forest products. The province also possesses mineral resources such as diamonds, gold and copper, which are exploited both artisanally and industrially. These economic activities are essential for local development.
