Angola-Namibia Business Forum Highlights the Importance of Regional Economic Cooperation
Economic cooperation between Angola and Namibia was the focus of the Angola–Namibia Business Forum, held on October 19, 2026, at the InterContinental Hotel in Luanda.
Aimed at promoting regional industrialization, investment, and sustainable growth, the forum highlighted the importance of developing strategic partnerships between the two countries, providing a forum for discussion on opportunities for economic and business cooperation.
A high-level meeting to bring the two markets closer together
The forum took place as part of the state visit by the President of the Republic of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, and as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The official session featured remarks by José de Lima Massano, Angola’s Minister of State for Economic Coordination, acting as host, and concluded with a speech by the Namibian President.
The initiative was organized by Namibia’s Ministry of International Relations and Trade, in partnership with the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), the Namibian Embassy in Angola, and Angola’s Agency for Private Investment and Export Promotion (AIPEX).
Business participation was a central aspect of the meeting: prior to the event, 95 Namibian companies had expressed interest in participating in the forum and in the B2B business meetings, which were designed to facilitate direct contacts, explore common interests, and identify partnership opportunities.
Industrialization, investment, and sustainable growth
Regional industrialization and economic diversification play an important role in building more competitive and resilient economies.
In this context, the Angola–Namibia Business Forum highlighted three key areas for the development of bilateral cooperation:
Regional industrialization: boosting productive capacity and value creation;
Investment: encouraging the identification of opportunities and the mobilization of economic partners;
Strategic partnerships: strengthening business relations and promoting initiatives of common interest.
The coordination of these pillars can help revitalize the business environment and strengthen regional economic integration.
Turning opportunities into concrete partnerships
In addition to institutional dialogue, the forum sought to bring the private sectors of the two countries closer together through B2B business meetings, designed to facilitate direct contact between companies and investors.
This type of initiative is particularly relevant for organizations seeking to internationalize their activities, diversify their target markets, identify suppliers and partners, or evaluate new investment opportunities.
The realization of these opportunities will depend on continued dialogue among stakeholders, the identification of viable projects, and the creation of favorable conditions for the establishment of commercial and productive partnerships.
The challenge, therefore, is to transform business interest into concrete initiatives capable of generating economic value, strengthening supply chains, and contributing to sustainable growth in both countries.
Angola and Namibia: a partnership with regional potential
The geographical proximity between Angola and Namibia is an advantage for the development of more dynamic trade relations. Strengthening cooperation in the areas of agriculture, industry, transportation, logistics, and energy could open up new opportunities for businesses and contribute to greater regional economic integration.
The Angola–Namibia Business Forum underscored the importance of creating opportunities for dialogue and collaboration between the public and private sectors, promoting an approach focused on investment, competitiveness, and the development of business opportunities.
ABBB's commitment to connecting markets
For Angolan Business Beyond Border (ABBB), strengthening international economic relations and fostering closer ties among companies, investors, and strategic partners are essential pillars for promoting business internationalization and supporting the creation of new opportunities for cooperation.
The development of relations between Angola and Namibia illustrates the importance of building bridges between markets and encouraging initiatives that contribute to a more integrated, competitive regional economy that is open to investment.
ABBB supports this momentum as part of its mission to promote and strengthen economic relations between Angola and the world, valuing international cooperation as a tool for business development.
