Angola Aims to Mobilise More Than US$2 Billion in Investment at the Lusophone Africa Investment Forum
Angola aims to mobilise more than US$2 billion in investment, according to an announcement made during the second Lusophone Africa Investment Forum, held on 26 and 27 October 2026 on Sal Island, Cape Verde.
The announcement was made by Josemar Afonso, Angola’s Secretary of State for Tourism Assets Management and Concessions, who represented the country at the forum.
During the event, Angola presented its Investe Turismo strategy, designed to increase the visibility of investment opportunities in the tourism sector and attract capital to projects with development potential.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to position Angola as an investment destination, promote private-sector participation and create opportunities for economic diversification.
Mobilising investment at this scale could support the development of new projects, strengthen business activity and encourage partnerships between Angolan and international investors.
However, the announced figure represents an investment mobilisation target. It should not be interpreted as capital already invested or as a total value of signed investment agreements.
For ABBB, initiatives that improve the visibility of investment opportunities and encourage international business partnerships are relevant to strengthening economic relations between Angola and global markets.
The forum provided a platform for Portuguese-speaking African countries and their partners to discuss investment, regional connectivity and opportunities for cooperation across key economic sectors.
