On 6 September 2024, the Association of Real Estate Professionals of Angola (APIMA) held a forum entitled ‘National Register and Regularisation of Real Estate Agents’ at Cine Atlântico (Luanda, Angola), bringing together renowned experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. Angolan Business Beyond Border (ABBB) attended the event, reaffirming its support for initiatives that promote sustainable and thoughtful development in Angola.

The forum highlighted key issues such as the housing shortage affecting thousands of citizens, the need for regulation in the sector and strategies to balance the high demand for housing with the available supply.

According to Massada Culembala, president of APIMA, the property market in Angola has great potential, but depends on more solid regulation to achieve full development. APIMA, which represents 12 professions in the sector, is focused on formalising professionals through the National Register programme, an essential measure for strengthening and professionalising the real estate market in the country.
